Hey, everyone!
Welcome back to the blog.
Today, I want to talk about setting rules, for your clients, and your business. It’s important to have set expectations of yourself, your clients, and to make sure both sides understand the rules of working together. I have set hours each day. I also have times that I’m simply not available. Important family times, holidays, and weekends fall under these times.
Here’s my breakdown:
Office hours 10 am- 4 pm Monday through Friday
Unavailable on all US holidays.
Unavailable on Saturday and Sundays
Will respond within 24 business hours
There may be other specific dates that affect my availability. I always let clients know those dates, as soon as I do. I suggest you do the same. It’s all about communication!
Any work done outside my availability will be charged double my rate.
This setup is so I can maintain my work/life balance. It’s so important for remote workers to maintain this balance, especially if you run your own business as I do.
In short, set your expectations from the start. It will keep you, and your clients happy!
